Design for social responsibility [ collaboration with my classmates]

This project is all about understanding out what the problem is and working together to solve it.

This was a group project that I worked on with my classmates at Uvarsad village, Gujarat

Problem statement

The kids are interested in different activities like art and crafts but they 

lack the means as there is no subject like this nor any teacher who can

teach them these skills.

User study

1. The kids belong to low income families

2. Age group: 10 - 12 years

3. They are interested in studying and learning different skills

4. They are enthusiastic and curious to learn new things

5. Not every child has access to learn through online mediums

Survey

We conducted an activity with childrens .we distributed chits to all of them 

and interact with the children to understand their needs and desires.

1. Tooklit

About:

This is a basic kirigami tool kit. We created this toolbox to introduce kids to the kirigami art and help them learn and explore it. They are free to practise this art anytime they desire. 

 

Content:

This tool kit is divided into seven compartments. 

1. Pencil 

2. Fevistick 

3. Booklet 

4. A4 size paper 

5. Scissors 

6. Sketchpens                       

7. Miscellaneous [waste fabric, paper cutouts, buttons, and other materials that students will keep and reuse.]

2. Booklet

About:

This is booklet acts as a manual/ guide for the kids to learn kirigami art. The booklet contains basic introduction to kirigami art along with some examples so that the kids can explore with different folds and cuts.

3. Workshop with students 

About: This workshop is just a simple initiative to churn creative wheels and guide students in better understanding their capabilities and thinking abilities.
